NutriSystem.com Reported As Lowest Priced Weight Loss Program by Both Forbes.com and the National Business Research Institute

NutriSystem Helps Consumers Who Resolve to Lose Weight, Save Money and Eat Healthy in the New Year

Horsham, Pa. (December 31, 2008) – Forbes.com finds NutriSystem Inc. to be the lowest priced weight loss program as reported in their 12-23-08, “How Expensive Is Your Diet?” story. The article compared the first week costs of seven popular weight loss programs and stated that, “At $74 for women and $82 for men, NutriSystem was the cheapest option…” Several of the other programs were hundreds of dollars more expensive. For example, Weight Watchers was calculated at $385 for the first week.

In March 2008, the National Business Research Institute (NBRI) conducted an independent cost comparison of the first month on seven weight loss programs. NBRI also found NutriSystem to be the lowest priced weight loss program, hundreds of dollars less than other weight loss programs. This study compared center-based programs, pre-packaged meal programs and self-managed programs.*

Compared to USDA food plans, customers can actually lose weight with NutriSystem for $55 less per month, or $660 a year, than many American’s food costs.** In addition, NutriSystem has no membership fees and provides free online and telephone counseling.

According to usa.gov, the top three New Year’s resolutions for 2009 are to 1) lose weight, 2) manage debt, and 3) save money. NutriSystem has controlled costs and is passing these savings to its consumers to help them make these resolutions a reality.
